Doorbell pro - motion detection zones don't do anything
I bought this camera 2 days ago. The motion detector goes off for everything. I have restarted the camera like 10 times, uninstalled the app and readded the camera, logged off all accounts. I set the zones (yes i know they only matter during the day time) yet it still goes off for cars going by on the street. At night i just goes wild and goes off for everything. Sensitivity is set to low and to only detect people. This thing will go off for cars in the street yet not go off when an actual person walks into the zone its set to go off for! i have even tried blacking out all the activity zone and it would still go off go figure. Does anybody have a remedy for this or is the app just to be aesthetically pleasing and none of the options actually do anything? Might just bring it back and try a ring.

@wi11iamp My doorbell pro, besides looking nice as you mentioned yours does, works fine. Also know over 2 dozen other customers (I have placed over 30 systems over the years) that work fine too. If one didn't, I can assure you I would hear from them, especially family members. (If you are thinking I am a Simplisafe "plant", feel free to search on my handle and you will see while I am a loyal customer I am hardly shy calling out SS when I feel appropriate..like with their "loyalty" dept.)
Now with that out of the way, the first step is to call support and troubhleshoot. My doorbell faces due west and I mounted it on a slanted wedge, so it faces slightly downward and not directly out. No issues with movement, as it skips cars but does pick up the neighborhood kids or delivery people fine. I can zoom and see houses across the street with a clear line of vision.
If you do call support, or try the viewing angle modificaton, please post the outcome of your efforts here if you get a chance. And, one last thing, I also had to install the "modification" kit on my chime to get it to work. :-)
Happy Holidays to you and your family.

@wi11iamp As Captain11 mentioned, if you have not installed the Video Doorbell on its included Vertical Bracket, I would recommend doing so to slightly adjust the doorbell's angle. It can also help to toggle the doorbell's motion detection settings off and back on in the SimpliSafe mobile app.
If these above steps do not help, then the next step would be to connect with our Support team for some additional live troubleshooting.
