Camera Offline

One of my 4 camera shows offline. The battery is good, I performed a self check for the internet connection which showed 4 green bars for both test. When I try to open the camera it shows connection error. When I hit retry it shows an active view but when I close it shows Offline with an exclamation in the center of the viewer

@2harts1 If you haven't already, we would recommend resetting this camera to help it reestablish all of its connections. You can find reset instructions for each of our cameras below:

I have the same issue and have tried everything. It is an intermittent problem with no obvious cause and has been happening for years. The problem persists despite moving houses 3 times, different ISPs, setting up a dedicated 2Ghz channel for SimpliSafe, different routers, and even new SimpliSafe camera equipment. Over the years I’ve eliminated every possible variable including buying new cameras but I still have random days where one or both cameras will just be offline and nothing I can do will bring them back. Then they will randomly work again. When I call customer service I go through the hoops just to have them say it must be an issue with my home network. Incredibly frustrating and I have just accepted the fact that I may or may not have video footage at any given time. As soon as we stop renting we will switch to another service that doesn’t have the connection reliability issues.

Same problem. Some basic software engineering for SImplisafe can fix this. Once a connection is deemed as "lost", have a background thread keep retrying automatically and reconnect without forcing the user to retry.

Simplisafe sensors and cameras seem to have problems sustaining connections, automating retries would help improve the user experience.

I've worked in commercial software development for decades. This issue is easily fixable in the software
