Camera motion notification sound changed IOS 17
The app for ios has changed the sound for camera motion notifications. I understand that the default sound was changed by apple and the SimpliSafe uses this default.
the sound is now “rebound” i believe, which I never hear, so it makes the notification useless. Any chance of you (SimpliSafe) allowing it to be changed in the app?

We currently don't have custom notification sounds for the iOS app, but we have submitted this request to our devs for their consideration. Once we hear more from them, we'll give an update in this thread.

I am hoping something can be done about the iOS 17 default notification sound. It is barely audible and certainly will not wake you up at night when a camera goes off. This has rendered the camera alerts useless on simpli safe. I have sent emails to apple with no response.

Agreed. We heavily rely on the camera alerts and they’ve been rendered useless.

The original sound was better. My guard dogs responded to that when someone came near the door. It conditioned them and now they don’t respond at all. We need the original sound back

I totally agree, something needs to be changed and the Simplisafe technician today passed it off, like nothing has changed, yet now I see they obviously know about it. So seriously, there needs to be a LOUD notification on i-phones, when camera motion is detected, otherwise it is totally useless, and if all of us start telling other people about this, then there will be no more new customers. So Simplisafe needs to do something about this ASAP!!

I miss the original sound. My dog would always run to the door when someone was there. But now nothing because the new notification volume is so low. It's useless now. I hope this is something SS can fix.

SIMPLISAFE, please fix this issue! How can you go on ignoring what I’m sure is a huge portion of your customer base. This is a serious issue that you can fix in your software. Don’t your developers work for you?

Users should be able to set their own sound preferences. This was a big miss by Simplisafe and is a regular dissatisfaction reminder. All of my other safety apps accommodate sound preferences, SimpliSafe is way behind the curve 😠

Instead of making sound unnoticeable to even my dogs, you should at least make it changeable by the customer as to how loud or obnoxious it is. Make it changeable or change it back. You are gonna lose customers if you do not.

I’m so upset. I spent a lot of money on cameras. The notification is so weak you can’t hear it. Called SimpliSafe and they glossed over it like sorry your bad. WTF!!! I’m getting rid of this company plus I’m going on a vendetta warning, all people not to use this company!
