Auto wifi logon fails

The problem returns, again.  Suddenly Simplisafe does not automatically recover wifi after losing the connection and requires me to input the password.  My router updated during the evening.  I tested afterwards and auto wifi recovery failed again.   Please repair the Simplisafe you broke with last update.

Hi @rj31234,

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing this! This isn't how the Base Station was intended to behave—it should automatically reconnect to your WiFi network, but our engineers are investigating this issue.

However, I have seen other users report that resetting their Base Stations has helped prevent this issue from happening again. You can reset your Base Station by taking the following steps:

  1. Unplug the power cord from the Base Station, and use a Phillips Head screwdriver to remove the screw below the plug
  2. Remove the bottom cover and remove one battery from the Base Station
  3. Wait 30 seconds
  4. Reassemble the Base Station by inserting the battery, cover, and the power cord
  5. When powered up after the reset, the Base Station will say "Welcome to SimpliSafe"

Thank you for the response.  I have endured this problem intermittently for years.  Each time I reset the base station as requested by Simplisafe with no success, only to have a subsequent firmware release come out that makes it work again with no intervention on my part other than installing the update.  Fortunately my network is very stable so I am now only inconvenienced when my router loses power or is rebooted.

Please fix the problem once and for all and add an in house test to regression test this functionality before you release every base station update.

Thank you.
