Android App To Make changes on Primary and Secondary Contacts - a mess!!!

Just back from FL on vacation, I found out what it's like using the phone app to update primary and secondary contacts.  As punishment, the person who designed it should be forced to use it.

I wanted to have my neighbor, an existing secondary, to the first primary, then move myself to the second primary, and then my wife to the first secondary contact. Easy you would think, but after trial and error, I finally figured out how SS would force me to do it, retyped, saved, and updated several times and then it finally was done. SS, you have to make the app simpler to use...hey, it's in your name! C- for the entire experience, and I am being generous.

Just wanted to add that when I got home I used my desktop, using the web portal.  In under 30 seconds, done. A snap!

Hi Captain,

Thanks for the feedback. I definitely want to put this in front of our app team. If I have this right, your feedback is that you don't like the more touch-based UI, and prefer just being able to change the text boxes like on the webapp?

As a reference, this is the current process for changing Primary Contacts via the SimpliSafe app:

  1. Navigate to My System tab
  2. Select Location Settings
  3. If you already have two Primary Contacts listed, you will need to select one contact, then hit Remove Contact at the bottom, then confirm with Yes
  4. Select + Add Primary Contact
  5. Enter the first name, last name, and phone number of your new contact, and hit Done on the top right

On the webapp side, the process is:

  1. Log into the webapp here
  2. Under your protected location, navigate to Monitoring (on the left)
  3. On the right side, under Primary Contacts, simply replace the info on the spots for First and Last Name and Phone Number with the new info
  4. Make sure to hit Save at the very bottom right

@davey_d Let me reword my issue. SS's attempt at form control is admirable but not workable in certain instances, like this one, where I am attempting to move primary and secondary contacts around. While I appreciate the intent of the coders, the result is frustration. A user should not have to make several submissions to get all of the changes completed.
