Add member log-in

How does a family member log-into my account ?  On their cellphone app my wife inputs MY e.mail and the password but doesn't let her in.  It pops up with a QR code and says to scan - but how.??

@ukguy My wife and I for the past 10+ years (as long as there has been a SS app) have used it for both of us, no issues. If you having issues, call support. BTW, SS is currently workingon multiple users for the same account.

Hi @ukguy ,

Thanks for checking in about this. After logging in with the email address and password, you should get a text message with a confirmation code, and the SimpliSafe app would ask you to enter it. But a QR code should not be involved.

Is there any other text on the screen that indicates more about what it is?

@ukguy​ glad you checked in. I've been informed by our app team that the iOS version of the app does have a QR code as a way to help with login.

You'll want to use the camera on your own phone to scan the QR on your wife's phone. That will confirm the login, instead of using the confirmation code via SMS.

Or there should be an X on the page, that will dismiss the QR code and allow you to use the SMS confirmation instead.

I need to look for a new system, totally unreasonable for someone's significant other to have access.

@mccomas2 I get it why people want this but can't understand why it is a red line if their spouse or significant other uses your log in. My wife and I have used the app like this for over 10 years with no downsides. 

SS, how about a response (read that as an informative response) when multiple users will be delivered?

Example: Thank you for your inquiry and this will be released in the second quarter of (Insert year). See? Not nuclear fusion :-)

Does SimpliSafe have a legitimate timeframe of when the option will be available to add additional users to my user account? This is a basic feature that should be available. I have two systems in two of my houses and I have been waiting for multiple years for this option. If I need to look for a different option please be honest.
