System says Door or Window open when none are.

When arming for either home or away mode, the system says "warning,  door or window is open, when none is. I have been using this system for several years without this problem. Checked all the sensors to see if any magnets or sensors had fallen off or were otherwise displaced....nothing. Please advise. Thanky you.

Have you checked the batteries?

Hi @condronkelly ,

That was a great idea to check that no sensor pieces might have fallen off!

It would help to know exactly which sensor is having trouble, which the system should be telling you. You can find out from the notification on the Keypad, by pressing the side of the screen.

Or on the app, you can go to Menu > My System > Device Settings, then pull down on the screen to refresh. You'll see which sensors are currently registering as Open or Closed.

Thank you. Will do. The false alarm notification simply stopped happening (no pun intended) the next day. Working now with no problems.  Appreciated your input.

My basement door is doing the same thing - My System section says closed before and after arming but as arming it voices “basement door is open”!

@seb2t2 is your basement door made of metal? We do not recommend placing the Entry Sensor directly on a metal surface, as it can cause the sensor to demagnetize - resulting in the system reading an incorrect open/closed state.

If the door is made of metal, try adding a buffer between the Entry Sensor and the door. This can be anything like a few extra layers of adhesive, thin cardboard, or plastic.
