Simplisafe sensors stopped detecting movement but still pass self test

Suddenly and simultaneously an error appeared for all motion sensors:
"Unresponsive motion sensor v2"

"Motion sensor v2 'ROOM NAME' is not responding."

I put the system in test mode through the keypad and observed the following messages in the simplisafe timeline for each motion sensor:

"Test signal received 'ROOM NAME' motion sensor"

thus comfirming that the motion sensors are communicating with the base station. I figured it was  glitch that would eventually clear on its own. Now several days later, the glitch hasn't cleared so I performed a more thorough test, arming the system and walking through the house. Systematically walking in front of each motion sensor. This test triggered no alarm, telling me the sensors are not functioning as they should.

Next I disconnected and reconnected all motion sensors from the system using the app and repeated tests above, getting the same results: passing test mode but failing to detect motion.

I'm at a loss for next steps. I wasted hours on the phone with ss support during setup after a break in at my place. Learned not to count on support for help so I figured I'd post here to see if anybody's resolved a similar issue. Thanks!

@Ikura_Roll We recommend power cycling your Motion Sensor. To do this:

  1. Slide the sensor up and off its bracket. This may require some light force to add leverage to, especially if you did not wall mount the sensor

  2. Remove the battery from the sensor and leave it out for at least 10 seconds

  3. Place the battery back in the sensor

  4. Slide the sensor back onto its bracket

This should hopefully resolve the error message. If it does not, try replacing the batteries in your impacted sensors with fresh ones.
