Error 16489

Tried to reboot the system and this error still keeps popping up. I tried to look for suggestions online but nothing was popping up. Help?

@thorn3172 I took the liberty of contacting SS Tech Support Chat (which is now 24x7 btw) and the agent stated that it is an issue with the base communicating with one of  your keypads.  They suggested you take the batteries out of the keypad(s) for 30 seconds, and then put them back in.  This should clear the error.

Now, feedback to SS. It has been at least two years since the new community site has been established. If there is an error code that the SS3 system is capable of generating, it should be in the online public product support database. This one is not. A comprehensive list should be created, posted and updated on a regular basis. Obvious to me, but just in case:

  • Reduced costs to Simplisafe as customers can support themselves
  • Increase in customer satisfaction for the same reason
  • Less burden on online associate resources

And more.

@thorn3172, hope this works, if not, call support and continue trouble shooing. Please post your outcome here if you get chance.

@thorn3172 Do you have an Original SimpliSafe system or a Gen 3 system? If you're not sure, you can use our Which Version of the SimpliSafe System Do I Have article to identify which system is yours.

But if you have an Original System, this error indicates that one of your sensors is offline. To resolve this issue, we would recommend replacing the batteries in your sensors.
