Entry Sensor nonfunctional after battery replacement

The battery was low on my door sensor. I replaced it with the same type of battery and now the unit does not respond, or show a blue light when placed next to the other part. How do I "revive" the unit"?

Hi @Lesbert ,

Of course, the first couple of things we want to check are that the battery is seated correctly (fully snug underneath the plastic hook), and facing flat side up. It would also be a great idea to check for signs of corrosion on any of the metal contacts underneath.

But assuming you've checked all of the above and you're still not getting a blue light whenever you place it near the magnet, then the sensor itself may have been damaged and needs to be replaced. You'll want to reach out to our Support team, and we'll take care of you!

Thanks. I found the cause of the problem. The whole pack of "new" batteries that I bought were duds. Not so obvious when you have no way to check them, but I found an old battery and, with that installed, the sensor worked fine. It just shows, that sometimes the solution is the most obvious one.
