When do SimpliSafe® Life Safety Devices Expire?
Updated
In accordance with National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) guidance, SimpliSafe® recommends replacing Smoke Detectors every ten years, and replacing Carbon Monoxide Detectors every five years.
How do I know when to replace my SimpliSafe® Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors?
Your life safety devices need to be routinely cleaned, tested, and even replaced after certain intervals, in addition to battery replacement. You can reference this article or your device owner’s manuals for more information on cleaning your Detectors, and this article for more information on testing your devices.
SimpliSafe® CO Detectors (including Smoke/CO Combo detectors) need to be replaced within five (5) years of the manufacture date (found on the label on the back of your device); and Smoke Detectors need to be replaced within ten (10) years of the manufacture date (found on the label on the back of your device).
