I have not set my new simply safe system "away" yet while pets are home because I am concerned they may trip the system when jumping on their favorite chair which is below the motion sensor in corner of a 9 foot ceiling.  The pet directions are sparse and only say flip sensors if animals are l

We have multiple in our house, flipped and set to low (test them periodically so we know they pick up humans still). In 3 years our 50 lb dog nor our 8 lb dog have set them off.  Point them in areas where they will no view a couch or area the a

To all users I am not sure you are aware but when you activate your system it will arm itself even with doors and windows still open. All the app tells you when you activate it that it has armed, not that windows ad doors are still open. I don't know about you but would you want your system to arm

J

Almost every system works this way. If you arm from the keypad the base will warn you that a door is open.  The purpose of this is if you want to leave say your bedroom window open and arm the system before bed, the rest of your house is still

I bought this product because it specifically stated that the system could detect the difference between a human intruder and a household pet. This is not true.  I left my home with my small dog free in the house.  Alarm then went off and the police were dispatched.  This makes this

Similar to method above, through secret alert testing we have an alarm free home with a 6 lb Chihuahua and a 45 lb pointer mix. Keys for us were -Make sure sensors are mounted properly as detailed in link posted above -Medium sensitivity -Not aim

Hi, I work from home. My house is not in the best neighborhood, therefore, I have the Home alarm feature on while I'm working. Also, sometimes I go to bed early with the alarm on and my partner needs to get in while I'm sleeping. What setting do I use to keep me safe while I'm home, yet still allow

J

I would just set an entry delay on the door they use when coming in. That way it does not set off an alarm and you can still arm in home mode.

Could a sensor be developed that would work inside a fireproof safe? I don't believe a entryway sensor would be able to communicate with the base through the thick walls.

J

I just have the room protected more than any other room in the house. Motion, camera, and even an entry sensor on the door to the room set to secret alert.

Ah, nothing like public pressure putting a spot light on deceptive pricing to get a company to clean up its act.....former ADT customer here 8 years ago who gladly left the evil empire for Simplisafe. As I told (and tell) many, my worst day with SS over the past years is still better than my best d

The best part of that is they offer "Echo Dot Professionally Installed Free". I guess the people who can't install an echo dot themselves can get tricked into a lot.

Does anyone have any experience with using a Robot Vacuum while in Away mode? I would like to try it but do not want to trigger any Motion sensors. Thx bill

J

Camera motion sensors only trigger an alert and trigger the camera to start recording. They do not trigger the alarm like a traditional motion sensor.

We do not have any issues with ours, but we have our motion sensors set upside down for pets.

I recently installed the new Doorbell cam and it works just fine. However, the house I am in must have an old or broken doorbell chime. The wires were in the wall at the door and powered, but I have no idea where the box in the house is and there is no chime (maybe off or broken). Is there a way for

J

I just do not see how it is supposedly so segregated. When I arm/disarm my system all cameras including the doorbell begin recording so clearly there is communication there.  It obviously is not direct from the base station but there is a link.
