When in Home mode - the alarm needs to say WHICH sensor triggered the alarm
This came up recently after we accidentally set off our alarm. I noticed the alarm didn't tell me which sensor triggered it, so was essentially blind.
I have 3 doors into my house and many windows--having 2-3 doors and many windows is extremely common.
If someone is home and the alarm goes off, whether during the day or in the middle of the night, it is CRITICAL for self-defense of you and your family to know which sensor caused the alarm! If a window breaks or a door is kicked open, it is vital to know exactly where the intruder might be coming from. Is it the front door? The back door? A kitchen window?
Currently we would have no idea unless we check our phone for the text message which is definitely NOT going to be the first thing I do if someone is breaking into my house. Looking at your phone could literally get you killed in a true home invasion situation. You cannot take your eyes off the entry point(s) of your home. It can only take SECONDS for an intruder to get from kicking in a door to being a threat to your/your family's life/lives.
Currently: the speaker only says "Back door opened" (etc.) while in off mode, which is really not very useful.
When it is in Home or Away (although I am mainly concerned about Home mode, because that is when we are home and working or sleeping and potentially in danger), it just blares the alarm sound and doesn't tell you which door/window was opened/broken.
I strongly suggest SimpliSafe add a new feature that changes the tri-tone alarm to start with the alarm blaring to alert you/wake you up, then after 5-6 seconds, says "FRONT DOOR" (or whatever sensor triggered the alarm) then goes back to blaring for 5-6 more seconds, then say "FRONT DOOR" again. In a serious scenario with intruders where seconds could be life or death, knowing what direction an intruder is coming from is absolutely critical.
This could save lives. I ask the SimpliSafe product team to please consider this carefully. This would be a strong differentiator for your product vs other security systems. In the end, I just want my family safe and this should not be a difficult feature to implement as an option that you can toggle on or off.
A few extra notes:
- Perhaps the number of seconds before it exclaims which sensor could be an adjustable number of seconds?
- Otherwise all you have is a blaring alarm that will actually cover up an intruders footsteps/other noises they may make which could help you hear where they are.
Other members, please comment or vote if you can if you think this is a good idea.
Thank you and stay safe everyone!

If a similar Enhancement Request already exists and I can vote for it or support it somehow, or this can be merged with it, please let me know. Thanks again!
