Cut and Splice Outdoor Camera Power Cable

I'm looking to cut and splice the cable near the wall adaptor end in order to not have to drill a 3/4" hole in my wall. I read that there are 2 red and 2 black wires and that they are for power only. Do I need 4 splices, one for each of the 4 individual wires, or just 2 splices where the two red are joined together and the two black are joined together? I don't care if this action voids my cable warranty.
