Where to Place the Carbon Monoxide Detector
Updated
Our Carbon Monoxide Detector sniffs out dangerous leaks that can happen in kitchens, fireplaces, basements, and more. Because it’s an invisible and odorless gas, Carbon Monoxide leaks could otherwise go undetected.
We recommend having at least one per floor, in a bedroom or in a central location. The Carbon Monoxide Detector should only be installed or mounted to a ceiling to ensure adequate readings.
*This product is designed for residential use. When used in a commercial environment, it should be supplementary to your existing smoke and/or CO detectors and not your sole detector(s).
In accordance with National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) guidance, SimpliSafe® recommends replacing your Carbon Monoxide Detector within five (5) years of the manufacture date (found on the label on the back of your device).
