Bell box alarm gong off for no apparent reason

A couple of weeks ago when I went to bed, I could hear a faint alarm going off, as if it were someone's alarm from the other side of the village. The next morning, it was still going off, and I traced it to my bell box. It was so faint that you could only really tell where if was coming from if you were directly under it.

There were no errors or battery issues reported in the app but I replaced the batteries just to be on the safe side, and all was well. Until today, when it was happening again. So I wriggled the batteries and pressed and held the test button for a few seconds and all returned to normal. Again - app says all is OK.

Any ideas what the problem is?

Hi Jim,

The only time we expect the Bell Box to make a faint Siren is when you hold down the pairing / test button for a short while.
Is there any potential for the button to be pressed / pressured down where it is fitted?

We see you have already been in contact with our Support Team, and continued monitoring of this will happen. If it was to re-occur after the steps you have taken, we would want to receive the impacted Bell Box back so that we can triage the device.

As this is a unique scenario no historic cases, there is very limited advice to provide you with, apart from what you have already done, as well as ensuring the battery compartment is clean and shut properly to avoid any water ingress in the battery compartment.

Hi

The faint siren sound is exactly the same as the one you hear when you press and hold doen the pairing/test button for a few seconds - which is rally useful to know.

It went off again this morning, so I took it down, then took out and reinstalled the batterires. It went off again, so I removed it from the system and took out the batteries again. This time though, I took note of what you said about the test button and checked and thoroughly cleaned the rubber cover before putting back the batteries then closing the cover carefully to ensure as best I could that the button wasn't being affected.

Then I re-added the bell box the the system and remounted it on the wall.

So far, so good but if it goes off again, I'll need to send it to you for testing.

Thanks for yout help!

Thanks for checking and confirming the sound.
I have left a note on your account, so that if it does happen again, we will replace it, and have the impacted Bell Box returned to our engineering team to investigate further.

Appreciate your willingness to look into this issue in more detail with us!
