Watch Live - Default microphone set to off

When monitoring a camera in Watch Live mode, the video should should be initiated with the microphone off for the person monitoring the camera.

Currently, in Watch Live mode, the microphone is open/on in both directions meaning both the camera and monitoring device is broadcasting sound.

It doesn’t make sense for the microphone of the monitoring device to be On as the default.  Once the Watch Live mode is initiated, the person monitoring the camera should have the option to turn on their microphone.

The Watch Live mode is a great feature to covertly monitor a camera, however, the  default communication broadcasts all sound from the device monitoring the camera which defeats the purpose of covert monitoring.

@thehotdogdepot I opened my Android app and for the outddor and doorbell cameras the default was to hear but the microphone was off. Went to test my indoor SA cameras and while they started loaded quickly and then went to live view the screen stayed black.???  Wifi mesh okay, interent speed great but appears my indoor SA cameras not working this Sunday morning. So, can confirm for outdoor cameras and doorbell default is microphone off.

Hi @thehotdogdepot,

When watching a live stream through your camera, your device's microphone should not be on by default. If you are watching a live stream for an Outdoor Camera or Smart Alarm Indoor Camera, you will need to tap the speaker button on the screen to speak through your device. If you are watching a live stream for a SimpliCam Indoor Camera or Video Doorbell Pro, you need to press and hold the speaker button on your screen while talking to be heard through the camera.
