Live guards a la Deep Sentinel
Now that you guys offer an outdoor camera, you should also offer a live guard option like Deep Sentinel. I already have a full SS system in my home, but I am strongly considering adding Deep Sentinal as an added layer of security; however, I would actually prefer to keep everything within the SS ecosystem and I feel like you guys have the ability to do that now. I would gladly pay an additional monthly fee for this added level of security and I'm sure many of your other subscribers would do so as well. You have a much wider reach than Deep Sentinel too, so I feel like you could offer a superior solution overall. Adding this option would make SS virtually perfect in my opinion.

Hi all!
In case you missed the news, we recently launched a new Beta Program for 24/7 live guard protection, a new service with a similar purpose to this request - rolling out first with the upcoming Smart Alarm Indoor Camera. Check it out here!

But it's also just like a security system- if someone wants to get into your house, a person yelling through a camera or a siren going off isn't going to stop them. Police aren't likely to be waiting in their patrol car just down the street, so expect at least a minute or two for a response. If it's a smash-and-grab, they will have your TV and be gone before the police show up.
I have long said of any security system- it's just a tool to help you, not physically stop an intruder. I have the means available to me to do that myself.
If it helps you sleep and you are willing to pay the extra, then perhaps there is a larger market for it and it certainly has value to you. It could be an addition to the monitoring plans that SS offers, but it would probably take a larger monitoring force to keep up with the false alarms.
I guess it all comes down to a personal cost/benefit analysis.

Hi all,
I can at least comment on the technical side of things. Right now, as many of you know, the only way that the Monitoring agents can get access to your footage is through the Visual Verification feature - which of course is opt-in for each camera, and disabled by default.
The way that works is that a recording of just that one alarm event is immediately sent to the Monitoring team. So let's say you have multiple cameras, our agent will be able to see a recording from each of them. But they're not able to browse through any other recordings, and also it's not a live view that they can control (so they can't just keep watching as long as they want).
Essentially our goal was to enable our Monitoring agents to determine if there's an emergency, and relay that info to emergency services as quickly as posible, while still protecting the user's privacy at every step of the way.
But based on the above, the system is currently not set up for live feed - which would definitely be an interesting direction to go into, for SimpliSafe.

Yea and how much does deep sintenal cost? A lot and you better have serious wifi to be able to connect to those cameras and to be honest simplisafe has video verification anyway so out of all 9 of my cameras they will see who it is and send the video to the cops and when they get it they will know it's not a false alarm and will already know who they are looking for and will haul butt to get there and someone screaming out of the camera is not going to stop someone from breaking into my home but the whole neighborhood is going hear that extra siren I have outside and know something is up. I'm good with the way it is with simplisafe.
