Active Guard Monitoring: Almost Perfect...
Once in a while a great idea comes across the right desk and customers of a company are lucky enough to have it make reality. Active Guard is a great example of this, and almost (key word there) hits the proverbial home run. Leveraging the inside the home "FastProctet" concept, it brings monitoring to the outside of your home, where the service can challenge a suspicious individual on your property by initiating a conversation and, if necessary, sound the alarm and turn on the spotlight.
Does it work? I had it for several weeks and can confidently tell you that testing with two of my neighbors, it sure does, and very effectively. The new Outdoor camera Series 2 has a new audio hardware and software component that makes a neighbor's conversation 40 feet away clear enough to hear. Add AI and human intelligence, it's great!
So what's not to like? As with anything, there are downsides, two items actually, that had me downgrade back to "Core" monitoring (formerly FastProcted) In what I expect was Simpsafe's attempt to save from programming time and costs, the SOP is for the SS3 system settings to be locked so that any type of alarm condition has the OD camera siren and lights go off. Living in a suburan housing development, this is a non starter for me as I don't want neighbors waking up at 3am because my motion sensor fell off the wall, or I forgot to clean a smoke sensor....
The software needs to be updated that the SS monitoring agent can sound the alarm and turn on the lights manually as they seem fit, but the customer's settings need to remain in place for everything else. I must also add the newer capability to shut off motion detection when the system is off.
Okay, Simplisafe, make those modifications and I will make sure the scoring table gives you back that home run. In the interim, I will stay in the dugout watching with Core monitoring.
Happy holidays to all!

Enjoying the game that's currently and still being played.
12th inning, Ty Zigbee is up at bat, .367, lol, tieing run is on 3rd, the win is on 2nd, as I watch from outside the fence of the SS stadium. It's a home run of course.
Every tendon and nerve tensed, like a lion waiting for it's prey to make a mistake, before pouncing. Legally of course. 🙀😾🐈 LMBO🤔😜
With only self monitoring, two base stations, and interference signals detected by both being near the 433.92 MHz lights on the pear tree. Lol
Erased from the SS book of life.😂🥹😏 I hope anyhow. Fun aside;
Too many legal ramifications for me even though Pennsylvania is sorta legal for friendly faces and certain or most recordings.
My Wyze cams have it, it's turned off. I don't find it useful.
Unlike some states, ie; for example, where law differs amd its illegal.
Wyze blocks it use entirely, for their legal reasons, (go figure, terms lol) in; California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, New York City, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington State, and the Canadian Provinces of Ontario and Quebec. Etc.
I read the updated SS terms and conditions, supplemental Ai update terms and conditions etc etc. Phew 😅. 😴.
Bring along a lawyer friend to interpret and a good book should anyone venture into "Legal" at the bottom of every web page here... Lol quite a read. It's all on you in every way.
Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals! 😂 🎄🎁
Fine print;
As always, personal opinions that matter very little. On My terms and my conditions. Unless an admin makes it private only. (Censored) Lol
