Why in 2024 is there no fix to the
SimpliSafe outdoor camera load time? From the second I get a notification it takes over 30 seconds for the camera to turn on and yes I have good WiFi. The doorbell works great. The only issue with the doorbell is people only mode also detect cars not just people

There are a few of reasons why your Outdoor Camera may experience lag when starting up a livestream, or when a recording is triggered. You're right that the first thing to troubleshoot is the WiFi connection. We recommend starting with our guide on the Help Center here.
It's also important to know that the Outdoor Camera not only needs to link with your WiFi router, but also the Base Station - since it's the Base Station that wakes the camera up from deep sleep (which conserves battery life). So if you have any dense walls or heavy appliances between that camera and the Base Station, that could slow down or prevent the camera from starting up at all. We recommend, if possible, to move your Base Station closer to where you have your Outdoor Cameras installed.
The last thing I'll mention is that we do have a feature called Performance Mode, which is currently in the process of being rolled out. On Outdoor Camera firmware 1.20 or above, so long as your camera is plugged into power (either via the AC adapter or the Solar Panel accessory), it will no longer go into that deep sleep, meaning that your recordings and livestreams will start up faster.
