Base Station Replacement Due to Cellular Connection Issue Notification Question
I received a notification today that my base station needs to be replaced because Simplisafe " identified a critical issue that may impact your Base Station’s cellular backup connection and requires your immediate attention." Ok, not great but Simplisafe at least is on it. But the notification email contains a statement that I am wondering about. In it, it states "Without a replacement, if your Wi-Fi connection is unavailable, your system may not be connected to our professional monitoring center, meaning we will not be notified if there is a fire alarm or a carbon monoxide (CO) alarm, and you will NOT receive emergency dispatch. " My question is why do they call out only fire alarm/carbon monoxide alarm dispatch, and not mention dispatch for the standard ole burglary-type sensor alarms? I use Simplisafe for burglary protection, not fire/carbon monoxide. Have they de-prioritized burglary monitoring in some way I am not aware of?

And why cant they come up with a better procedure than me having to add all 20 some odd sensors back every time they have to replace the garbage base station? And it you forced me trough the 2 extra screens about mounting the stupid sensor and placing it why do i have to go through them every single time, OK the first one i get = people are not that smart = but surely the average person can remember it past "add another entry sensor".
