Hi theanswerlady1,

The first thing that you'll need to do to get your cameras connected to your router is to reset them so that they'll take you through the setup prompts. To reset one of your SimpliCams, all you need to do is hold down the black circular button on the top of the camera for about 10 seconds. After about a minute the camera will reset and prompt you to install it again. Hope that helps!

What if the base station won't connect either?

@kaligirl1976 Are you getting any specific error message when you try to connect your Base Station to your network? I would first check to confirm that your network's setting aligns with our system's requirements:

  • Your network must broadcast at 2.4GHz
  • Your SSID and password cannot exceed 31 characters each
  • Your network must be configured to WPA2 or WPA2/3 Mixed Mode

If your system aligns with these requirements, I would recommend resetting your Base Station by taking the following steps:

  1. Unplug the power cord from the Base Station, and use a Phillips Head screwdriver to remove the screw below the plug
  2. Remove the bottom cover and remove one battery from the Base Station
  3. Wait 30 seconds
  4. Reassemble the Base Station by inserting the battery, cover, and the power cord
  5. When powered up after the reset, the Base Station will say "Welcome to SimpliSafe"

After completing the reset, try connecting the Base Station to Wi-Fi again.

Know what isn't cool?  The fact that just because you replaced your router you now have to REMOVE YOUR DOORBELL completely in order to push a damned button, just to connect to a new wifi network.  WHY exactly can it not connect to another wifi network when it loses connection and you enter the new credentials without removing the doorbell and physically pushing a button and then having to reinstall the doorbell?

My router went out and got replaced and I was able to reconnect all the other cameras, both indoor and outdoor without pushing any buttons on them or resetting them in any way.  But not the doorbell.  The one that is most important to NOT have to do it physically.  smh

Now I guess I live without my doorbell camera until I get the time and motivation to remember how the heck it is secured (a tiny screw maybe?) and then find a tiny screwdriver to be able to remove it and go through this whole entire process all just to connect to wifi.  Ridiculous.

@bschultz0 If you used the same SSID name and password, they "should" have reconnected, unless you changed those for security reasons.
