Secret Alerts needs options
I put a SimpliSafe entry sensor on my mailbox so I know when my mail is delivered. Set it to generate a Secret Alert, but not to trigger an alarm or call the monitoring center. It's useful, but I wish there was a way to configure the Secret Alert so it just generated a notification but does not activate recordings from all of my cameras. Waste of storage and bandwidth, and a privacy concern.
Thanks,
David

I never knew that even if you have one on secret alert it will activate cameras, my guess is that if you do have it that way it is to catch the person who is setting it off and you will have footage of it.

I enjoy the "secret notification" feature for entry sensors. I use it to monitor my child's windows since he enjoys opening them and this notification saves me needing to check if they are closed. However, I do not like having my indoor camera (in the family room) to begin recording what is going on in the family room when he opens his bedroom window.
I understand the rationale of having the cameras activate when there is an "alarm." In fact, I have my cameras configured to do that when I've set the system to "away." But, I do not want them to EVER come on when there is not an alarm.
Please encourage the software developers to re-think the "secret notification" and not to frame it as an "alarm" condition, because it is NOT an "alarm" it is a notification of a change or event. They understand the system should not call the police but, they didn't make sure the cameras are not activated.
Give users a choice of camera behavior for secret notifications.
Thank you
