Cameras no longer detect motion

Our cameras have stopped recording any motion detected or any event after earlier this morning for no apparent reason. We haven’t had any wifi updates or anything else. Is there something I’m missing?

Hi @jimsheppard77 ,

Thanks for reporting. Could you give us a bit more info? For example:

  • What type of cameras do you have?
  • If you have Outdoor Cameras, are they plugged into a power source, or battery only?
  • Are you still able to livestream?
  • How far are those cameras from your Base Station?

If you could provide the info, as well as anything else you can think of, that might help us narrow down the issue.

Ours stopped too. The last recordings we have for 4 of the cameras was on April 25. We only have 2 working now. We have outdoor cameras and they are able to livestream. They are no further from the base station than they have ever been and they always worked before. The closest one that is not working is about 12 feet away. The others vary up to about 40 feet.

@barbieh2 I see that you were able to reset your cameras, and restore function. Did you still need assistance?

How do you reset cameras?

@mrcardiac1 To reset your camera, you need to press and hold the setup button on the device for about 30 seconds. After you release the button on the device, it will flash white, prompting you to set it up in the SimpliSafe mobile app again.

The process to preform a reset varies differently depending on the device, but the articles linked below will go through the steps to reset each respective camera:
