Wife Unable to Sign In

New user(s):

I have no issues with the app on ios, but we are new subscribers and my wife downloaded the app (ios) but keeps getting an error message when using my log in to sign in?

Not sure what we need to try so she can use the app? She is listed on the account

Hi @rmreid24 ,

Thanks for checking in. So if I have this right, you've been able to log into your account just fine. But when your wife tries to log in using the same username (email address) and password, she's having trouble.

Could you let us know the specific error message that she's encountering? That can point us towards the next step.

I think I fixed the problem?

I added my wife's mobile number under multi factor authentication, within account settings in the app which helped but the code whe she does it under her mobile number bounces the code to my mobile instead of hers? (which I then give to her to enter and she can get into the app)

Not very intuitive to figure out compared to the app your competitior has that I came from

@rmreid24 ah, gotcha. After logging in with your username and password, you'll be taken to a page labeled "Verify Your Identity". Your mobile phone number will be listed there by default. But you can select a different phone number that's already registered, by hitting the > arrow to the right of the phone number.

You can find step-by-step instructions on our Help Center page here.

I had this issue today. We are new subscribers and I just set up the app and account today. I was able to login just fine from my android, but my wife keept having issues with her iOS. She started to think she needed her own login, which I don't think that is possible (but maybe I'm wrong). The something went wrong screen kept coming up, however on top of that was a black iOS info note that said cant find simplisafe.com in Passwords (paraphrasing). I don't have iOS but that "Passwords" seemed like a clue, searched settings and I figured out that I could manually add the simplisafe username and password to "Passwords" and then the app opened right up.

I don't know what happened, why the app wouldn't register the app in the Passwords the first time she tried to login, so I thought this might be a common iOS issue with this app. This post is the only thing I found so far.
