Outdoor Camera Stream less thsn 10% of thr time

So this is year three of this issue , review records and see that ive received and extender , no change, I bought my own quality extender , no change, no firmware updates no other update available from your company and yet the post says resolved. Ive received horrible customer service , book read answers that are so irrelevant and as a computer engineer I know computers , signals, wifi etc. Its not my internet , my neighbor can borrow my net and her home is over 75 feet away. I have 2 gig internet with Blue Ridge. I had none of these problems with Cove but from month one this darn outdoor sorry camera. My home is far from secure , a deer hunter walked right by the camera no recording , no spotlight just a error message. Luckingly my dog heard him and went crazy. Now that ive insured I have no contractual obligation Im ordering a new Cove system on ID.me as we speak. This is a very bad way to do business , when anilies rely on the service for safety only to find its not reliable itself.

This is what I see day in and day out in this darn camera.

i have a mesh network with 5 seperate routers througout the house.  I see this message most of the time.  My guess is that the base station has to talk first to the camera before the wifi can, so that you cannot cut the service (simplisafe) out of the loop once you realize what you get for the cost.  Its like a child's service, they only let you record 1 minute of video at a time, because this will save them on the cost of slow storage at amazon.  Unlimited Videos - means we delete your content after 30 days, and only let you record 1 minute at a time manually.  We record 2 seconds before the event, and 2 seconds after the event, then put the camera on a cooldown for 30 seconds so any futher motion will not trigger a recording.

This is a great service if you want it to appear on paper that you have a security system, they have all the paper work to make this get you a deal with insurance.  But if you are actually concerned with say having recordings when they matter, seeing evntire events rather than bits an pieces.  and the option to wire in the camera, and stream the footage locally, rather than chewing up all your internet bandwidth to see grainy video from a camera that is on your local network.

I have already began the replacement, a single 4k camera connected via a switch on it's own vlan with a NVR attatched.  The difference is staggering.  The smoothness of the video, the ability to quickly forward and reverse the footage.  Being able to read words on shirts.  Have events leading up to an event.  Keep anything longer than a month, integrate with home assistant.  AUTOMATION.  You can get the same amount of storage that simplisafe allots for you on amazon S3 for around 1.99 a month as a solo person, if you sub'd to a large amount and were using bits an pieces, the average user probably costs 0.10-0.25$ to host all their camera footage for a month on the slow archive storage that is used.

i really wouldnt care as much, but the fact they say "Unlimited Video Storage" then limit it to 30 days of storage...  Well to limit something on something that is unlimited, well its contridictary..   However, that being said, this business model probably nets quite a lot of money for the shareholders and owners of simplisafe.

So cheers to them!
