how to rename sensors when moving from one house to another

Before taking down your sensors, we recommend labeling each of them with their name in your system so you know which sensor is which. But if you have already taken your sensors down, you can identify each sensor through their serial number. 

If you remove the backplate from each of your sensors to display their battery, you will see an 8-character serial number printed on it. You can then cross reference this with the sensors in your SimpliSafe mobile app by taking the following steps:

1. Navigate to the My System gear on the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen
2. Select Device Settings
3. Choose one of your sensors
4. On the top left side of the screen, you will see SN# followed by 8 characters
5. Sift through all of your sensors in the mobile app until you find one with a serial number that matches what is physically printed on your device so you know which sensor is which
