How To Clean SimpliSafe® Products
Updated
It is recommended to use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth when cleaning any of your SimpliSafe® devices. For more information on how to clean your devices, follow our guidelines below.
Base Station and Sensors Cleaning Guidelines
Should you need to remove tough smudges or dirt from your Base Station or sensors, you can dampen the cloth with a mild soap solution. Avoid using any chemicals, solvents (like isopropyl alcohol), or ammonia-based cleaners as they will damage the device.
Camera Cleaning Guidelines
To clean the lens of your camera products, use a microfiber lens cloth or lens cleaner. If you notice larger debris, gently blow away the larger particles or use a soft brush before wiping clean.
Smoke and/or CO Detector Cleaning Guidelines
To clean your Smoke and/or CO Detector, we recommend removing the device from the wall or ceiling first. Then, remove a single battery from the device to ensure it is not receiving power. Once it’s powered down, you can use a soft bristle brush attachment for your vacuum cleaner to remove the dust and debris that has built up inside the detector. Once vacuumed, you can put the battery back into the device and place it back on its mount.
Never use water-based products to clean the Smoke and/or CO Detector, as this can damage the device.
To prevent false alarms from your Smoke Detector or Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector, we recommend cleaning the device one a month.
