SimpliSafe has a recommended Wi-Fi extender, which has the appropriate configuration options to be compatible with our camera devices. 

However, if you should choose to purchase a different Wi-Fi extender, our camera devices work with nearly all Wi-Fi extenders. When purchasing a Wi-Fi extender, please ensure that it has the following configuration options:

• You are able to name the extended Wi-Fi network differently from the main Wi-Fi network.
• The extender should support a 2.4 gHz Wi-Fi frequency, with the ability to either turn off the 5 gHz frequency or given the 5 gHz frequency a different name. (The SimpliSafe system is set to work with 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks in order to provide wider coverage. 2.4 gHz penetrates walls and floors much better than 5 gHz networks.)
