How to Register a Permit With SimpliSafe®

To register the alarm permit that you acquired from your municipality, you’ll need to use the SimpliSafe® Mobile App on your phone or tablet.

Please note that different towns and cities refer to alarm permits as different names. Below is a short list of some of the most common names:

  • Account Number

  • Alarm Permit Account Number

  • Alarm User Permit Number

  • Assigned ID Number

  • Business Alarm Permit

  • Customer Number

  • Decal Number

  • License Number

  • Permit Application Number

  • Police Department Code Number

  • Registration Number

  • Residential Alarm Permit

Once you have received your alarm permit, you will need to register it within the SimpliSafe® Mobile App using the steps below:

  1. Open the SimpliSafe® Mobile App on your phone or tablet

  2. Navigate to My System at the bottom of the screen

  3. Choose your Location Settings

  4. Scroll to Permits at the bottom of the screen

  5. Tap on the permit you wish to manage (Police or Fire)

    1. If you have a single permit or multipurpose permit for both Police and Fire, you’ll need to enter it into both fields one at a time.

  6. Fill out the form using the information from your permit including your permit number and its corresponding expiration date (if applicable)

  7. Select Save Permit from the bottom of the screen once you’re done to save your selections

  8. Your permit will now appear within the SimpliSafe® Mobile App and be available to monitoring specialists in the event of an alarm
